Brock, Sora and Biyomon were sitting on a bench in the park.

"Good morning and welcome back to the Ultimate Challenge!" Brock said.

"The Red Team has been quite busy lately. Yesterday they met with the Blue Team and managed to get their diamond." Sora said.

"It's a shame they didn't get the emerald back." Brock said.

Biyomon kept looking at Brock, she couldn't stand the curiosity any longer. "Hey Mr. Brock, how come you keep your eyes closed? How do you see?"

"Ahem... I don't have them closed. That's just how my face is."

"Yeah Biyomon!" Sora said "The artist probably don't like to spend too much time drawing his face."

"Hey! Are we here to host a show or talk about my face?"

"Sorry. In any case the Red Team decided it would be a good idea to take the Yellow Team's ruby."

"Unfortunately for the Yellow team they haven't been able to get the Ruby back from Cologne, today is there last chance."

"Let's see what happens."

Biyomon got a black marker. "Biyomon draw Brock a better face."

"Get away from me!

They Yellow Team was having breakfast in the pokemon center.

Izzy: "This is disturbing news"

Ash: "Why did come here all of a sudden?"

Freya: "They are targeting us now, but I don't plan to run like the Blue Team."

Izzy: "It's not like we have much choice."

Ryoga: "Well the joke is on them. We don't even have the Ruby."

Everybody stares at Ryoga, except for Goku who ate like a pig.

Ash: "We better start looking for Colgone."

Izzy: "What good would it do? We searched all day yesterday and barely got glimpses of her."

Freya: "But what else could we do?"

Izzy: "There's got to be a better way. Ryoga, you knew Cologne before any of us. Can't you tell us anything useful about her?"

Ryoga: "She's a tough old lady. I don't know of any weakness she could have."

Ash: "We should lay a trap for her."

Freya: "What kind of trap?"

Ash: "I don't know..."

Izzy: "Maybe if we go to the largest skyscraper in this city and search her from there?"

Freya. "Guess it's worth a shot."

They Yellow Team had to laterally drag Goku out of the pokemon center."

Goku: "I'm still hungry!!"

Tai: "Man! This island is even weirder than file island. I mean one moment we're in some arid region, then a jungle, and now we find ourselves in some megalopolis."

Trunks: "It's going to be hard finding that fearow in this city."

Haruka: "Even worse if that fearow dropped the digivice."

Makoto: "It would be impossible to find then."Tai: "We would have no choice but to ask the Yellow Team for help."

Trunks: "How and why would they help us?"

Tai: "Izzy can detect my digivice with his, and well, Izzy is my friend and Goku is your friend no? Maybe we can make some sort of truce."

Haruka: "We would owe them a favor."

Agumon: "But without the digivice I won't be able to digivolve and we won't know where the other teams are."

Quina: "You not become big again?"

Agumon: "That's right!"

Makoto: "Well, aren't we forgetting something? We think the Yellow Team is here because this is where it was the last time Tai looked at his digivice. They could have left by now."

Trunks: "This is not our day."

Haruka: "Let's go look for that fearow."

Makoto: "But where?"

Tai: "I know! Birds are in tall places, let's go to the tallest skyscraper in city."

Trunks: "It's a start."

The Red Team made their way to the largest building in the city.

"Boy, this sure is big!" Ash said.

"Pikaaaaaaaaa..." said an impressed Pikachu, he had never seen anything that big.

"There's nothing this tall in the digiworld." Tentomon said.

"Let us go in." Freya said.

They Yellow Team was about to enter when a security guard stopped them. "Wait! You think you can just come in here?"

Goku smiled and said "Yeah we do! My name is Goku and I'm the captain of the Yellow Team."

"The Yellow Team? You mean you're participants of the challenge?"

"That's right!" Ryoga said with confidence.

"What's your business here?"

"We just want to go to the top of the building to look for someone."

"Is that all? I suppose I can have someone take you to the top, but you can't wonder around inside."

"Why? What's in this building anyway?" Ash asked.

"I can't tell you."

"It's none of our business anyway." Freya said "Let us just take the man's offer."

"Ok." Goku said.

The guard called another guard inside. He told him to guide the Yellow Team to the top of the building and to keep an eye on them.

Meanwhile...

Somewhere inside the same building Ami and Michiru where talking to a mysterious man.

"What did you find out?" the mysterious man said.

"I was able to hack into their system." Ami said "I got this disk with plenty of information on their project, but I haven't had the time to analyze it properly."

"How long will it take?"

"I can have an analysis by tonight."

"Good. But tell me, even you have to guess at this point, what do you think they are up to?"

"I'm not sure what Dr. Izumi is doing, but I'm sure he's using much of the information left by Dr. Gero."

"Yes?"

"Well, Dr. Gero's greatest creation was an android known as Cell."

"Yes, I know. Believe it or not a copy of him was made for the challenge, he has already been defeated."

Michiru laughed a bit without opening her mouth.

"Well the peculiar thing about that android is that it had cells of many of the strongest fighters, that's what made him so strong. Now the file in this disk contains a list of five names, Sailor Moon, Garnet, Mew, Dende and Sailor Saturn."

"Do you think he made an android with the cells of those five?"

"Possibly... but I'm not sure."

"Where are they now?"

Michiru spoke "We only know that Usagi is vacationing somewhere in this island and that princess Garnet is also here working on some political affairs. Hotaru disappeared about a week ago before the challenge started, she left me a note saying she needed to get away for a while. I'm starting to think she knew something like this was about to happen. Dende... well he is above us, and about Mew, we have no idea where that creature could be."

"I need you to at least find Sailor Moon and princess Garnet and bring them here. We need to interrogate them."

"Yes sir!"

Ami resumed "Now another thing to note is that the file says something about the subject being able to develop on it's own now. They even plan to destroy it with their weapons."

"I see, this fits in with what we know."

Michiru said "And what is it that you know? You should tell us."

"We only know that the Red Ribbon had found a source of tremendous power, we found this out thanks to a spy. But they didn't have a way to obtain nor control this power. The only thing our spy was able to tell us that they only referred to it as the weapons and had to ask for Dr. Izumi's assistance."

"What kind of weapons could they be?" Ami said "and why would they go through all the trouble of making this thing if they plan to destroy it with these weapons? and the last thing that bothers me is the name of the project, it is called JENOVA 2, I know something about the JENOVA PROJECT and what happened, but I guess I must do some extensive research on it."

"Well... get to work on it!"

"Yes sir!"

Both girls left.

Back to the Red Team.

The Red Team made it to the entrance of the building.

"I never see so large building, a lot of munchies could fit in it." Quina said.

"I never imagined it would be so big!" Tai said.

"Let's go in!" Trunks said.

They tried to go inside but the same guard stopped them. "Where do you think you're going?"

Haruka said "We need to go inside."

"Sorry, I can't let you in."

Quina got real close to the guard, his/her face was almost next to his. "I do what I want, you have problem?"

Trunks and Makoto pulled Quina away from the guard.

"Are you guys from the Challenge too?"

Tai said "Yeah! We're the Red Team! I'm the captain, my name is Tai."

"Well, if you can wait a moment until the other team leaves the building, you can go inside after that."

"The other team? You mean the other team is here?"

"Yes, they entered this building a couple of minutes ago. They wanted to watch something from the rooftop."

Trunks said "Now what would the Yellow Team want to watch from up there."

Mako said "Hey! We did some things that would look weird to others that didn't know what we had to do."

"Guess you're right."

Tai sighed "I don't know about you guys, but I say we wait here for the Yellow Team."

Haruka said "That sounds like the wimp's way out."

Makoto said "I hadn't realized how important that thing was."

Agumon said "Tai! Do you think Izzy and Tentomon will help us?"

"Let's hope so."

The Yellow Team was now on top of the building. The place had telescopes all around. Freya went to stand on the corner of the building.

Ash looked at Freya "Hey! Isn't a bit dangerous to stand there? You might fall."

Freya didn't turn to answer. "Not at all, I even feel comfortable in high places."

Pikachu went to the edged of the building and peeked down. The mere sight was enough to scare him, he ran to the center of the rooftop.

"Guess my Pikachu isn't as brave as you." Ash said with a sweatdrop

Izzy looked at the telescopes. "This is perfect! We can probably watch the entire city from here."
Ryoga and Goku stood by the edge of the rooftop looking down.

Izzy and Tentomon started looking for Cologne.

After about 10 minutes of searching Izzy's digivice started to beep real loud.

Tentomon noticed Izzy was to occupied searching for Cologne that he didn't notice his digivice.

"Izzy!" Tentomon yelled "Your digivice."

"Huh? Oh yeah!" Izzy took out his laptop and inserted his digivice in it. "Wow! The Red Team it's on it's way!"

Ash heard Izzy and said "What? Where are they?" he then yelled at the rest of the team. "Hey guys! The Red Team is here!"

Everyone went towards Ash and Izzy.

"Where are they?" Freya said.

"They are going around the building."

Ryoga looked down the building but it was too high to distinguish what was on the ground.

Freya readied her lance "I don't know what they are planning but we're going to make our stand."

"They've gone inside the building!" Izzy said.

"They must be coming up!" Ryoga said.

"Wait! They've left the building."

"What?" Freya said "What are they planning."

Izzy was confused, they way the Red Team was moving was making no sense. "They went back in, and they left again, they went back in and even crossed it, they must have gone out the back door. They are going around in circles again."

"They are trying to confuse us." Goku said.

"It's working." Ash said.

A fearow landed on the roof and was standing right in front of Izzy.

Izzy didn't even notice it, he was focused on his laptop's screen. "They've gone back in. They must be right below me at this point. They stopped moving so maybe they took the elevator."

Freya said "Well you're not standing on top of the elevator so that's not it."

Ryoga said "Hey! Maybe they are looking for us. I mean they now we're somewhere around her but don't know we're this high."

"That makes sense." Ash said.

"But why did they stop moving?" Izzy said confused.

Suddenly Goku noticed something in the fearow's beak. "Hey Izzy! How come that bird has a whatchmacallit like yours?"

Izzy looked up and saw the fearow holding a digivice. "I see, we've been tracking this fearow's movements."

The whole team went *PLOP*

Izzy made a mental note 'Make 3D version of the map.'

Meanwhile...

Ami made it to her laboratory, she brought a cup of hot tea. She sat down in front of her desktop computer and was ready to insert the disk.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Said a voice from behind.

Ami turned around and saw Reno of the Turks standing in front of the door leading outside of the laboratory.

She was about to activate a silent alarm beneath her computer but someone grabbed her wrist, she looked up and saw Elena of the Turks. "Please, we would like this to be a private meeting.

Rude was also in the laboratory, he started at Ami.

"How did you get in here!?" Ami demanded to know.

"You were able to bypass our security and we were able to bypass yours." Reno said.

"We can't have you carrying confidential information around." Rude said.

"Now give me the disk!" Elena said "or I'll just have to take it."

Ami stood up and threw her tea at Elena's face.

"AHHH!"

Ami took out her magic pen "Mercury cryst..."

Rude grabbed her before she could transform, he took her wrists. "Take the disk Reno."

Reno went to take the wrist, but Ami kept fighting.

Rude forced her all the way to an opened window and held her on the edge. "Now stay still or else."

Ami didn't have the strength to get free of Rude. Suddenly she felt a lot of pain and then fainted. She dropped the disk she held in her hand and it fell."

Reno had used his electric staff to stun Ami.

"Man! Why you do that? she dropped the disk." Rude asked.

"Hey, they only wanted the disk destroyed, and it's destroyed."

Elena was just recovering from the burn "I'm OK, if any of you guys care."

"Shut up Elena!" Reno said "Let's get out of here."

"What about this girl?" Rude asked.

"Leave her."

"Let me kill her." Elena said.

"Elena, what have I told you about being a Turk?"

"A Turk doesn't hold grudges, he just does his job."

"Right! and our job was to destroy the disk. The job is done so now we leave."

The Red Team was still waiting outside the building.

"I hate this." Haruka said.

"I don't like it either, but don't have much of a choice." Trunks said.

"I so hungry!" Quina said. "I want fearow."

"Tai." Agumon said "What's that?" he pointed at the sky.

Tai saw something sparkle in the sky, but couldn't make out what it was. "I don't know Agumon, but it's about to fall to the ground."

The object fell on a bush on a small garden in front of the building. Agumon went to see what it was.
Agumon went to get the object.

"Hey Tai!" Mako said "I didn't know your digimon knew how to fetch."

Tai had a sweatdrop.

Agumon came back holding a disk. "Tai! It's a disk!"

Tai took the disk. "It appears so, someone must have dropped it."

"Let me see that." Trunks said, he took the disk from Tai. "Boy, it's been scratched pretty bad, I doubt you could read it anymore."

"Do you think they dropped it or wanted to get rid of it?"

"How should I know?"

A few moments later the Yellow Team got out of the building. They immediately noticed the Red Team outside.

Both teams looked at each other for a moment, unsure of what they should do. The silence was broken when an alarm sounded and guards started to lock all the doors.

Ash: "Hey! What's going on?"

Izzy: "Something must have happened inside."

Ryoga: "It's a good thing we got out in time."

Freya: "You guys! Don't get distracted, we have the Red Team in front of us."

The Yellow team focused on the Red Team. Tai stepped in front of his team.

Tai: "Hiya guys. Listen, we really don't want to do anything. How about a truce?"

Izzy held Tai's digivice"You wouldn't happen to want a truce because of this? would you?"

Tai: "Hey! It's my digivice! Where did you find it?"

Ryoga: "A fearow used it to drive us nuts."

Tai: "Hehe, sorry. Can I have it back."

Freya: "Why should we give it to you?"

Trunks: "Hey come on! You don't need it."

Tai: "Hey Izzy, we're pals. Listen, you give me back my digivice and we owe you a favor? OK?"

Ash: "Why don't you give us your emerald in exchange for it."

Ryoga: "Hey good one Ash!"

Mako: "Hey! Opportunist bastards!"

Goku: "You're not very nice."

Trunks: "Look, we don't even have our emerald, the Blue Team already took it."

Izzy: "You lost your emerald already?"

Goku: "Funny we lost the r..."

Ryoga hit Goku on the head.

Goku: "OW!"

Haruka: "You lost your ruby too? But you didn't lose it to us. Have you met up with the blue team?"

Freya: "No, but it's none of your business."

Tai: "Look, if you give me the digivice we're out of here and you don't have to worry about us. Deal?"

Izzy: "I don't know."

Ash: "Izzy, I feel they are being honest. Let's give them a break, who knows, someday they might give us a break when we need it."

Ryoga: "What if they don't?"

Ash: "We'll be sorry all right, but at least our conscience is clean."

Goku: "I agree with Ash."

Freya: "I've seen many warriors who have been given mercy and the backstab those who had forgave them."

Tentomon: "Tai and Agumon are not like that."

Goku: "Neither is Trunks!"

Ryoga: "I'm sure we'll regret it later."

Freya: "I have a bad feeling about it too, but I guess it's your choice Izzy."

Izzy thought it for a moment, he then threw Tai his digivice.

Tai: "Thanks Izzy! We owe you one!"

Haruka: "Well we got our digivice, let us go."

Quina: "I still hungry, I want fearow."

Goku: "Hey, come to think about it. I'm hungry too."

Cologne: "No wonder you haven't gotten the Ruby back, you think with your stomach."

Everyone looked away and saw Cologne standing on the sidewalk.

Cologne: "Well an other team is here too. What an unexpected surprise."

Makoto: "You mean this old lady got you Ruby?"

Ash: "Um... well yes."

Cologne: "Tell you what Red Team, the Yellow Team must recover this ruby from me, if they do it before sundown they get a badge. I'll give you a chance as well, if you take it from me the badge is yours and so is the ruby."

Cologne leaped away.

Tai: "All right!"

Haruka: "Let's go get her!"

The Red Team ran after Cologne.

Ash: "ACK!!"

Freya: "I knew something like this would happen. Let us hurry before they beat us to our own Ruby."

Izzy: "OK, but please try to restrain yourselves from saying I told you so."

The Yellow Team also ran after Cologne.

Brock and Sora were just a block away from the action.

"That was really mean of the Red Team!" Sora said.

"But can they really pass an opportunity like this?" Brock said.

"Aren't they friends?" Biyomon said.

"Yeah! Tai can be a jerk sometimes." Sora said.

"Calm down, it's not like they have taken it already." Brock said.

"That doesn't matter, they are trying to do so."

"Don't get so personal about it, besides we have to move on."

"I don't feel like it."

"We won't get paid if we don't."

"And now we have to take you with Mina because the Blue Team is about to face a new guardian."

"Again?" Biyomon said.

"Yes, will they have as much trouble as with Mewtwo?" Brock said. "Or maybe even more."

"One thing is for sure, it's going to be exciting!"

"You're definitely right about that one!"

Biyomon flew in front of both and said "Your turn Mina!"

Sora stood in front of Biyomon "But this isn't over, we'll be back later today to see what happens with these two teams."

Mina was outside the temple besides ponyta. "Thank you Brock and Sora! The Blue team is about to face a tough challenge. I know who the guardian is and it's going to be hell for the Blue team, especially for one member in particular."

"Poneee!!"

"And I think Ponyta wants more attention, either that or he wants to be my partner. But it's probably just my hyperactive imagination."

"Poneee..."

Mina has a sweatdrop. "In any case let's watch the Blue Team in action."

The Blue Team was standing in the middle of the temple similarly to how they were in the last battle.

"Now try to be useful this time." Ranma said to Beruche.

"What!? who froze Mewtwo?" Beruche said.

"If it wasn't for Vivi you would have never been able too."

"If it wasn't for Vivi you wouldn't have laid a hand on him."

"Guys!" Vivi said "I think you can find a better time to argue than right now."

Mimi held the badge with a firm grip, she hoped she didn't need to use it. Palmon was ready to digivolve the moment that guardian came out.

Kari was a little nervous. She didn't mind the arguing of Ranma and Beruche. She actually thought Eiko might have a point, but they were barely able to win the last battle, they might not make it through this one. She felt she had to say something. "Hey everyone!"

Everyone put their attention on Kari.

"Gatomon and I will do our best!"

Gatomon smiled at Kari "You know I'll always do my best for you."

"I'll do better this time." Vivi said.

Mimi smiled "Let's do it!"

Palmon felt encouraged.

Beruche and Ranma smiled at each other for a brief moment, but they quickly turned away.

"You can count on me." Beruche said "I'll even compensate for him."

"Compensate? Get real!" Ranma said.

Eiko yelled from a distance. "Be careful, I'm sure this is going to be nothing like your last battle. Have faith in yourselves, you'll need it."

The doors to the guardian started to open, everyone was anxious.

"What the?" said Beruche.

Everything became black.

Kari woke up on her bed.

"Huh?" was all she could say. She was wearing her pajamas and found herself in her room. She looked down on her bed and saw Tai sleeping in the other bed beneath her. "TAI!!"

Tai woke up violently "What the!? What is it!?"

"What happened!?" Kari hurried down, almost jumping off.

"That's what I'd like to know, why you wake up like that?" Tai said confused.

"I was about to fight a guardian, how come we ended up here."

"Kari... this is our room, we're supposed to be here. You must have had some weird dream."

"But you were in the challenge too! You were in the Red Team."

"Challenge? Red Team? What are you talking about?"

"Where's Gatomon? and Agumon?"

"They are in the digital world, you know that."

"No! They were with us!"

Tai had no choice but get up, he grabbed Kari's shoulders. "Listen! It was all a dream, and it must have been a wild one. You have to tell it to me one day."

"No! It wasn't a dream, it was too long and too real!" Kari said, her eyes became watery.

"OK, if it wasn't a dream then tell me about it."

"We were participating in the Ultimate Challenge, I was in the Blue Team."

"The Blue Team..."

"Yes, I was with Gatomon, Mimi, Palmon, Ranma, Vivi and Beruche."

"See Kari? Ranma is nothing but a character from some anime series and Vivi is a video game character, and who is Beruche?"

"She was one of the Black Moon sisters who became good."

"Whatever.. next thing you'll tell is Goku was on my team."

"No, Goku was in the Yellow Team. But Trunks was in your team, you took our diamond!"

"Trunks? Diamond? Kari you're starting to freak me out."

"I'm telling you it was real! Sailor Jupiter and Uranus were also in your team, and Quina too! You wanted your emerald back because we took it from you. You were able to get our diamond but not your emerald because a fearow took your digivice."

"A fearow? There were pokemon in your dream too?"

"Yes! I mean no! it wasn't a dream! Tai we got to do something."

"I know, I'm telling mom and dad."

"Tai!"

Tai got up and left the room "Mom!"

Kari left the room to look for a phone, she had to call Mimi.

"Mom? Dad? where are you?" Tai kept looking for their parents.

Kari grabbed the phone and was ready to dial when suddenly a gun shot was heard. She turned around and saw Tai on the ground, a puddle of blood around him. In front of him was Puppetmon! some smoke came out of his machine gun hammer.

"You naughty children, I have to punish you." said puppetmon trying to do a girlish type voice.

"AAAAHHH! TAI!" Kari yelled. She wanted to help her brother but bullets hit the ground in front of her feet. Kari had no choice but to run out to the balcony. "Help!"

"Shouting won't help you." Puppetmon said as he got closer.

Kari looked down the balcony, she would never survive a fall like that, but she climbed up and planned to jump to the neighbor's balcony. Puppetmon shot below Kari and made her fall.

Beruche was in complete darkness, her body felt weightless and it was hard to tell up from down.

"What is happening?" Beruche said to herself. "What is going on? What was I doing?"

A familiar voice was heard "Weak."

"Huh? Who is that?"

"You don't remember me?"

"Petz? is that you?"

"Well you do remember your sister after all."

"What am I doing here?"

Another familiar voice was heard "You couldn't even take care of yourself."

"Cooan? Where are you?"

"I'm ashamed to have you as my big sister."

"What are you talking about? What did I do wrong?"

A third voice was heard "More like what didn't you did wrong."

Beruche: "Caraberas? I... I... I don't even remember what I was doing."

Petz: "Maybe it's better that way, the humiliation won't be so bad."

Caraberas: "For her, but what about us?"

Beruche: "What humiliation?"

Cooan: "You let them control you."

Beruche: "Who?"

Petz: "Don't even bother to explain it to her, she's hopeless."

Caraberas: "I don't want to take care of her until she dies."

Cooan: "I don't have a problem with it, let her die in there and it's over with."

Beruche: "Sisters! Why are you talking about me like that? don't we care about each other?"

Petz: "What good have you done for us?"

Beruche: "I love you."

Caraberas: "That was a lamer answer than what I expected."

Cooan: "You expected too much from her."

Beruche felt really sad, but she couldn't cry. "I went through everything you did, I know how you feel and I thought you knew how I felt."

Petz: "How could you? You didn't have a worthless sister to take care off."

Beruche: "But... but..."

Caraberas: "Why are we even wasting our time with her?"

Cooan: "I keep telling you to let her rot in there and then we can go on with our lives."

Petz: "Now, now, everybody deserves one last chance. Even her..."

Beruche: "Last chance for what? I don't understand anything."

Cooan: "That's your problem, you're soooo clueless."

Caraberas: "For your sake let's hope that changes."

Beruche felt sleepy and closed her eyes.

"AAHHH!" Kari fell for what seemed forever. She was scared because she thought she was going to die but suddenly her speed decreased. Before she realized what was going on she landed in a large pond.
Kari came out of the water, she was all wet, but she was wearing regular clothes. Her surroundings had changed completely, she was in the backyard of a classic japanese home. Kari was confused, but in a way relieved. She knew it hadn't been a dream, but if not then what was it?

"Hey! How did you get in here?" said a voice from behind.

Kari recognized the voice, it was Ranma's. She turned around and saw him standing next to the pond.

"Ranma! I'm glad to see you!" Kari hurried to where Ranma was.

"Do I know you?" Ranma said. He held his hand to help her out but was pushed into the pond by someone behind him.

Kari saw Akane standing next to the pond now.

"Aren't you picking them a bit young now?"

Ranma-chan took her head out of the water. "Hey! I don't now where she came from!"

"But Ranma! It's me Kari!"

Akane was getting really angry. "Well she knows you well."

"I'm telling you I've never seen her before! and why would you care if I did?"

"I don't really care! do what you want!"

Ranma-chan was getting out of the pond. Kari got out as well.

"Ranma! We have to find the others!"

"What are you talking about? I've never seen you."

"But we were a team? How could you forget?"

Akane knocked Ranma-chan into the sky "RANMA!! I HATE YOU!!"

Kari was scared, Akane looked not only mean, but kind of evil.

Akane took out a giant mallet and was ready to hit Kari with it. "And you! You're not welcome here!"

Kari ran away from Akane, but she ran after her.

"Help me!"

Kari ran out the house into the street, Akane was right behind her. She ran for a couple of minutes until Ukyo suddenly appeared in front of her. "Ukyo! Please help me!"

"Brat." was the only thing Ukyo said. She threw some pepper bombs at Kari.

"*cough**cough* Why are you *cough* doing this?"

Suddenly a ribbon wrapped around her neck, this made her breathing almost impossible. She followed the ribbon with her eyes and saw a woman she had never seen before, she was wearing a leotard, but Kari was not able to speak.

The woman laughed hysterically "Aahahahaha! In case you are wondering I'm the great Kodachi."

Kari was surrounded by Ukyo, Akane and Kodachi. She didn't know what to do, it looked like the end.

Suddenly Akane caught on fire, Ukyo was struck by lighting and turned to dust and Kodachi was frozen solid and shattered.

Kari dropped to her knees and started breathing heavily, she then looked up and saw Vivi.

"Vivi!"

"Kari!"

Kari got up and hugged Vivi. "I'm so glad to see you! What is happening?"

"I'm glad to see you too! I'm not sure what is going on, but I'm sure some powerful magic is behind it. We won't defeat the guardian as long as we're in his domain."

"But how do we get out?"

"I don't know, but we have to find the others."

"Right!"

"KARI!!" Gatomon yelled. She was inside a giant mirror maze, but for some reason Gatomon was not reflected in the mirrors. Gatomon saw Kari instead of her own image in the mirrors. She wanted to believe the real Kari was somewhere in the maze, but she couldn't find her.

"KARI!! Please tell me where you are?" she was determined to find Kari no matter what. She ran around the maze, but without any luck.

Mimi was in an unknown city. The place looked kind of classic medieval, and the enormous castle was impossible to miss. The most peculiar thing about the castle was that it had a giant sword on top of it. The weirdest thing that Mimi noticed was that there was nobody around, the city looked completely deserted.

"Where am I?" Mimi asked herself.

Suddenly she heard some footsteps, a lot of them. She turned around and saw a group of people that all looked like Vivi, but larger.

"Hello!" Mimi said trying to sound friendly "I'm lost, could you please help me?"

One of the Black Mages said "KILL!"

Another one followed "KILL!"

"KILL!"

"KILL!"

"KILL!"

They all started shooting fireballs in Mimi's direction.

Mimi started running towards the castle, but more Black Mages came from that direction. The only place left to run was a small dark alley to her left. She took her chance and ran in that direction, fireballs were all around her, she didn't think she could make it.

"MIMI!" yelled a familiar voice.

"Togemon!" Mimi said excitedly, her friend appeared from behind a hotel.

Togemon stepped in front of the hotel and stood before Mimi. "Mimi! Get out of her, I'll hold them for you."

"No! Let's get out of here." Mimi said, but her friend ignored her and took on the black mages.

Togemon punched many Black Mages around, they flew into the skies in dozens, but she took many hits as well. "Needle spray!" many Black Mages were destroyed by Togemon's needles, but many more were coming. Fireballs hit her everywhere, there were too many of them.

Mimi ran towards Togemon "Please Togemon! Let's get out of here!!"

Togemon yelled "Mimi I told you get out of here!". More fireballs hit her and she caught on fire.

"NO!!!" Mimi yelled. She grabbed the badge and held it close to her, but nothing happened. Mimi was desperate "Come on you stupid thing! Please work!", but the badge wasn't doing anything.

Togemon was no longer hitting anything and was being consumed by the flames, she kept yelling in pain.

Mimi was crying "NO!!! Togemon!!"

"Please get away Mimi, I'll always remember you." Togemon was slowly turning into ashes.

"Togemon!" Mimi's scream echoed in the distance.

"KILL!"

"KILL!"

"KILL!"

Mimi had no choice but to run towards the alley, as she ran the alley became darker and darker, soon Mimi couldn't see anything. She kept running for an indefinite period off time, she couldn't hear the black mages anymore, but Togemon's screaming still torturing her.

Kari and Vivi had made it to a very peculiar place, it was like a small room in the middle of darkness, it had many large mirrors around it. Kari and Vivi themselves had come out of one of the mirrors.

"Where are we?" Kari asked.

"I don't know, I've never been in a place like this. This must be someone else's memories."

"Maybe one of these mirrors will lead us out."

"Maybe..."

They tried leaving through another mirror but they were now completely solid, they couldn't even go trough the one they came in.

"We're trapped!" Vivi said.

"There's got to be a way out."

Suddenly a voice was heard, it was familiar to Vivi. "Weapon."

"Zidane?"

Another voice was heard, this one was familiar to Kari. "Murderer!"

"Mom?"

Zidane appeared in one of the mirrors. "Tool of war, destroyer of dreams."

Vivi looked at Zidane's mirror "No! You're not Zidane! He understands me."

Kari's mom appeared in another mirror. "You killed your brother."

Kari screamed "Shut up! I didn't kill Tai! Puppetmon did, and it wasn't real! You're not my mother."

"Did you hate him because of what he did to you when you where younger? He almost killed you."

Kari was shocked by hearing that. "No! That was a long time ago."

"What makes you think he didn't do it on purpose?"

"It was an accident! I know that!"

"You believe that!"

"Tai loves me! So shut up!"

"Is that the way to speak to your mother?"

"You're not my mother! Leave me alone!"

Zidane looked at Vivi "You were programmed to kill, and kill you did."

"I...I...was only helping you! Besides we were killing evil monsters."

"But you kept killing like the little war machine that you are."

"I'm not a war machine!"

"When will you decide to kill your companions?"

"I won't kill them! They are my friends! and so is Zidane, you can't fool me."

Even though both Kari and Vivi knew those were both illusions, the thought that they were putting in their minds were hurting them deeply.

Mimi stopped to catch her breath, she was now in complete darkness. Mimi didn't care where she was, she was still crying about Togemon.

A familiar voice was heard "Idiot!"

"Tai? is that you? where are you?"

"How could we ever survive and take care of you at the same time? We must really be good."

Another voice was heard "All you did was whine all the time!"

"Sora?"

"You couldn't even keep your partner alive."

"How did you know? why are you saying this?"

Matt's voice was now heard "Things would have been a lot easier if you hadn't been with us."

"Maaaaatt! don't say that."

She now heard Izzy "I don't know which is bigger, your IQ or your shoe size."

Mimi started crying.

Tk's voice sounded real close to her. "At least there was a worse crybaby than me, but I stopped."

Mimi couldn't take it "SHUT UP!! ALL OF YOU!!"

Joe's voice was heard at the distance "Why did I believe I liked you? Nobody could ever do."

"That's not true!"

Kari's voice sounded real loud "The worst thing is that I STILL have to put up with you. Was it some sort of punishment for me?"

"Kari! we're friends! aren't we?"

Kari laughed.

Palmon appeared in front of Mimi.

"Palmon! I'm so glad to see you!" Mimi ran to hug Palmon but she couldn't get closer to her. "What... what is going on?"

"You killed me Mimi, I thought we were friends!"

"But... but we are!"

"Why did you let me die?"

"I did everything I could!"

"I'll haunt you for the rest of your life Mimi! I hate you!"

Mimi feel to the ground crying, she couldn't handle it anymore.

All the voices started laughing around her.

"Please stop, please!"

Vivi and Kari decided to ignore the two illusions and talk to each other.

"Remember Kari." Vivi said "They are lying, they are only focusing in bringing out your painful thoughts."

Kari remained silent.

"Toy of death!"

"Useless child!"

Vivi felt he had to help Kari "Kari, if it helps I want to say that I feel very happy to have met you."

Kari was surprised to hear that, she looked at Vivi.

"You and Gatomon share something very special, I could see it right away, but you have a way of making everyone feel like you're their partner. I've met many nice people in my short life, each one special in their own way, you have taught me plenty."

Hearing Vivi's say that almost made the other voices disappeared, Kari smiled. "I'm glad to have met you to. When we were in the digital world we made self discoveries about ourselves. But nobody had to go through with what you did, had my past been as tragic as yours I don't know if I could have lived through it. Your gentle soul and courage make you one of a kind Vivi."

"Thanks."

The voices were no longer heard.

"I think we made it." Kari said.

Another voice was heard "I hope they don't expect an Emmy for that."

"Who's that?" asked Vivi.

"I don't know."

Yet another voice said "I expected a lot of things, but not to watch a soap opera."

A third voice said "What do you expect from children?"

The fourth voice was actually familiar. "Do you see what I had to go through?"

Both Vivi and Kari said at the same time "Beruche?"

"Well serves you right!" Cooan came out of a mirror. "That's what we had to go through with you."

Petz came out of a mirror "Hopefully that will change in the future."

Caraberas came out of yet another mirror. "These two make me sick."

Beruche finally came out of another mirror. "I'm so sorry for being such a pain."

Kari went to hug Beruche, but before she could get to her Beruche hit her and sent her butt first to the ground.

"Beruche! What's wrong?" Kari said.

Vivi got close to Kari "Kari! That's not the real Beruche."

Beruche laughed for a moment. "How lame! I'm 100% real, accept no imitations."

Petz giggled "She's getting better already."

"Beruche, who are they?"

"They are my dear sisters. They are so great! I'm lucky to have them, nobody else would have stood me for so long! Bye the way, they are Cooan, Caraberas and Petz"

Petz said "Don't be so formal, it's not like they'll live that long."

Beruche grabbed Kari by the neck and picked her up.

Vivi was about to use his magic to help Kari but a whip wrapped around his hands. He saw that Caraberas was holding him.

Kari had trouble breathing, she was barely able to speak. "You... can't be the *cough* real Beruche..."

"Well, believe that if you must. It will be a more pleasant memory while dying."

Kari looked at Beruche's eyes as if she were looking for something, her crest of light started to glow.

Cooan yelled at Beruche "What are you waiting for! Kill her!"

Beruche's hand started to tremble a bit.

"You're being too slow!" Petz yelled.

"I told you she was weak." Calaberas said"She's hopeless!"

Kari smiled at Beruche "Don't worry... *cough* it's not... your fault. I... don't *cough* blame you."

"There's nothing to blame!" Beruche's voice was shaky "This is what must be done!"

Kari was turning blue.

"I... I was humiliated just by being with you!" Beruche's were watery "but I bet you don't understand, you don't know how I feel."

Vivi yelled "Beruche! if you're really Beruche then you don't want to do this!"

Petz hit Vivi. "Shut up!"

Vivi didn't shut up "Remember when we were starting? You said you understood Kari about showing your siblings how much you can do on your own. I believe you're a great person, and I know Kari does too. I don't care what anyone else says."

Petz kept hitting Vivi "I'm telling you to shut up!"

Kari was loosing consciousness, she was dying.

Beruche had a tear running down her cheek, suddenly she lowered Kari and hugged her. "Kari, I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking."

Kari took a deep breath, she rested a bit and then said weekly "Someone played with your thoughts. Whoever is doing this is very cruel."

Suddenly a bolt of electricity hit Beruche and Kari, the both feel to the ground.

Beruche quickly placed herself on top of Kari to protect her.

"You're still too weak Beruche." Petz said.

"No wonder we've had to take care of you all this time!" Caraberas said.

"No!" Beruche yelled "You're not my real sisters, my real sisters love me and have been with me not because they have to but because they want too, and I would do anything for them as well. They haven't been taking care of me, we've all been taking care of each other. I just had not seen it that way!"

"How corny." Cooan said "Three is such a better number than four anyway." she raised her hand ready to attack Beruche and Kari.

Suddenly something hit her back and sent her face first to the ground. It had been Gatomon who had come out of a mirror.

"Gatomon!" Kari yelled.

"Kari!" Gatomon yelled.

"My face!" Cooan yelled "You'll pay for that!" she leaped into the air and threw a series of blue fireballs into the ground.

Gatomon avoided all of them and ran all the way to Calaberas, she used her claws to cut her whip.

Vivi was set free. "Comet!"

A comet came from the sky and crushed Calaberas.

"Why you!" Petz said. She attacked Vivi with a lightning attack.

Vivi used a lightning attack of his own to block Petz's attack.

Petz didn't saw Gatomon coming and she buried her claws in her belly. She fell to the ground and disappeared.

"Caraberas! Petz!" Cooan yelled.

"Cooan!" Beruche yelled.

Cooan turned around and saw Beruche standing with Kari behind her, she had form an ice blade and was floating in front of her.

"You wouldn't kill your own sister, would you?"

"You're not my sister." Beruche sent the ice blade flying, it hit Cooan right on the chest, she disappeared.

"Kari!" Gatomon yelled, she ran to hug her.

Kari smiled "Gatomon! How did you get here?"

"I was lost in a maze Kari, I was beginning to think I would never get out, but your crest of light guided me to you."

Kari hugged her partner tightly.

Beruche said "I'm sorry."

Vivi said "It's not your fault, someone is using all our painful thoughts against us."

Beruche said "I know someone with the power and cruelty to do such a thing."

"Who?"

Before Beruche could answer some crying was heard. They all looked in one of the mirrors and saw Mimi crying.

"What is happening to her?" Gatomon said.

"The same that happened to all of us." Vivi said "Her painful thoughts are torturing her."

"We have to help her!" Kari said.

Beruche tried to go thru the mirror but it was completely solid. "This is not how the mirrors where supposed to work."

Vivi said "Things are not how they are supposed to be. I'll try to use magic to help you."

Vivi started concentrating and Beruche was able to at least put her arm in.

Gatomon said "She's not responding? Can't she see Beruche's arm?"

Kari said "She can't find her way."

"Then help her, just like you helped me Kari."

"I'll try." Kari's crest began to glow again.

Mimi heard a familiar voice, it was Beruche "Mimi! Please grab my hand!". She saw a spot of light at the distance and an arm reaching for her, but she was scared.

Beruche said "It's all right Mimi, anything that has happened to you is not real, someone is trying to hurt us. But we're here to help you, trust us."

Mimi stood up slowly and walked towards the light. She reached Beruche's hand and grabbed it. Her touch was so tender it made Mimi feel a bit better, she closed her eyes and her crest began to glow.

Everything around them started to fade, in a couple of seconds everything had disappeared and they were back in the temple.

Mimi saw Palmon laying on the ground, she ran to hug her. "PALMON!!" she said crying "I thought I had lost you."

"Mimi!" Palmon said also crying "I would gladly give my life for you any day."

"Don't talk like that Palmon, I'm just glad to have you with me."

"Mimi..."

"Mimi!" Beruche said as she ran towards her.

When Mimi saw Beruche and the others she smiled and got up to hug Beruche.

"I was so scared." Mimi said.

"So was I" Beruche said "but I think we owe you for getting out."

"Me?"

"I'm not sure how, but I believe you did it."

Kari then asked "But where's Ranma?"

Vivi said "And what about the guardian?"

Everyone looked at the end of the platform and saw the guardian, it was the Wiseman. "Curses, I had not seen such power since I fought with Sailor Moon."

Palmon got really angry when she saw the Wiseman. "You made Mimi suffer, you played with everyone's emotions. You're a terrible man!"

Beruche said "Terrible is not descriptive enough for him. He's evil taken form."

The Wiseman held his crystal ball. "Ah.. Beruche, it appears you have become stronger since you worked for me."

Everyone looked at Beruche. "That was a long time ago."

"You're right." the Wiseman said "it has been an eternity for me. I've wanted my revenge for a long time. Revenge on Sailor Moon, revenge on the small lady, and revenge on you traitors."

Palmon was furious "You are not going to make anybody suffer anymore. Palmon digivolves to... Togemon!"

"Hatred, such a good feeling. Give me more of it!"

Togemon rushed towards the Wiseman, she was closely followed by Gatomon. Suddenly Ranma got in between them.

"Ranma!" Gatomon said.

Ranma did not respond, he leaped into the air and hit Togemon with a flying kick knocking her to the ground. He then attacked Gatomon with a series of punches, she avoided most of his punches but could not attack.

Kari yelled "Ranma! Why!?"

Vivi said "The Wiseman must be controlling him."

"Ranma!" Beruche ran towards him.

"Beruche!" Mimi yelled, she tried to grab Beruche but could not reach her.

Gatomon could not avoid Ranma's punches any longer and got hit several times. She was knocked unconscious.

The Wiseman laughed loudly.

"Ranma! Please stop it!" Beruche said.

"Stop!" Vivi said.

Ranma's movements were frozen.

Kari went to help Gatomon.

Beruche reached Ranma. "Ranma! Please snap out of it."

"You think your magic can compete with mine?" The Wiseman said. He moved his hands around his crystal ball and Ranma began to move again. Vivi's magic was blocked.

Ranma punched Beruche on the face, she fell to the ground.

Togemon recovered and tried to attack the Wiseman. "Needle Spray!" dozens of needles flew at him.

Ranma got between them again and with incredible skill was able to catch all the needles. He then threw them back at Togemon.

Togemon was hit and fell again.

The Wiseman kept laughing.

Ranma went back to Beruche who was just getting up, she had a black eye.

Ranma hit her in the gut knocking out all her air, he grabbed her by the hair and held her face close to his. He was ready to strike the final blow.

"Ranma..." Beruche said weakly "You'll finally be able to end our arguments."

Ranma hesitated.

"What are you waiting for!?"

"Ranma!" Kari yelled. "Don't do it!"

"Ranma!" Mimi yelled. "Please stop." She ran towards them trying to help.

Ranma pushed Beruche away and looked at Mimi.

Mimi stopped running. "Ranma, please don't do it! We're your friends." Mimi said crying.

Ranma was about to attack Mimi when Beruche yelled "Ranma! Can't you even finish me off? You act tough but you're really a wimp."

Ranma got ticked off and went towards Beruche.

Mimi looked with despair, her crest and the badge stared to glow intensely.

The Wiseman got angry. "Ack! There's that power again."

Ranma looked at Beruche, unsure as to what to do.

Togemon stood up and felt Mimi's power. "Togemon ultradigivolves to... Lillymon!"

Ranma was about to hit Beruche when suddenly...

"Flower cannon!" the attack hit Ranma on the back and sent him flying.

Lillymon flew over to Beruche, she smiled at Lillymon. "Nice shot! but I have a question."

Lillymon was a bit confused. "Yeah? What is it?"

"How come you became smaller now?"

"*sweatdrop* I'll tell you later." She flew towards Ranma.

Ranma recovered quickly and went to attack Lillymon.

Lillymon flew above the ground and moved quickly, she had no trouble dodging all of Ranma's punches.

After a while she quickly flew around Ranma and made a collar of flowers around his neck.

Suddenly some black smoke came out of Ranma, he yelled in pain and then fell to his knees.

Beruche went over to Ranma "Ranma! Are you OK?"

Ranma grabbed his head. "My head hurts. What happened?"

"What kind of power do you have!?" the Wiseman asked.

"The kind of power that made me stronger." Beruche said "since you're so blind to it you'll never know what it is."

Lillymon faced the Wiseman. "Now I'm going to punish you for what you did to Mimi and her friends! Flower Cannon!" her shot hit his crystal ball breaking it in little pieces.

"NOOOO!!!"

Vivi said "Now I can use my magic freely. Flare!!"

The fire explosion destroyed the Wiseman.

"We did it!" Kari cheered.

Gatomon was waking up. She smiled at Kari. "Sorry I failed you Kari, but at least we got more friends we can count on."

Kari smiled at Gatomon and hugged her.

The Blue Team had eaten their senzu beans and had completely recovered.

"I could have used a cure spell you know." Eiko said "but they insisted I gave you this."

"Better for me." Beruche said, she was looking at herself in a mirror and watched as her black eye disappeared. "I would have died of embarrassment if I had to go on looking like that."

"Yeah, me too." Mimi said.

"You didn't get a black eye."

"Of course not, but I would have been embarrassed to have been seen with you."

Everyone but Beruche and Ranma laughed.

Ranma said "I'm sorry."

"Oh Ranma, it wasn't your fault."

"Yes it was! How could I have let him control me."

"Look, he manipulated all us. Don't feel so bad about it."

"But I wasn't able to control myself."

"Yes you were! You could have killed me, but you chose not too. I'm sure that wasn't the Wiseman's doing. In any case I forgive you."

"It's just that I can't believe he let him control me."

Beruche grabbed Ranma's head. "Listen to me! you were controlled by him for a couple of minutes, I was controlled by him almost my entire life OK!? So get over it!!!"

Ranma stood quiet and shocked, everyone was silent for a moment.

Eiko finally broke the silence "Well I'm impressed, that was a real hard battle to win. A less functional team would have been defeated easily. You guys should be proud of yourselves."

Mimi said "But I still feel sad about what happened."

Vivi said "It's not that easy to get rid of painful thoughts, most likely we'll always have some. The important thing is to not let them get to us. As long as we continue to enjoy the good things in life we'll be able to overcome them. Sometimes those bad thoughts are only in us, we must learn to accept ourselves as we are and learn to love ourselves."

"Wow Vivi!" Kari said "That was great! you must really feel inspired."

"Actually I read it somewhere, I just liked it so much that I memorized it."

Everyone had a small sweatdrop.

Eiko said "By the way, let's not forget this." She showed the team the badge.

Ranma took the badge and held it.

Mimi sighed "I hope we don't have to face another guardian ever again."

Beruche said "Oh come on Mimi! What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger."

Gatomon said "That's right! That's why the digidestined had to go through what they did, we all became stronger because of that."

Palmon looked at Mimi "We can overcome anything together Mimi!"

Mimi smiled at Palmon.

Ranma said "Well let's get going, Ponyta is already waiting for us outside."

Beruche said "Hey Eiko? Do you know where we can get another badge?"

"Well I think there's one hidden somewhere in the swamp to the west."

"Swamp?" Mimi said "YUCK!!"

"I agree with Mimi." Beruche said "How awful."

"That settles it!" Ranma said "We'll head west."

Ranma started to leave followed by everyone but Mimi and Beruche followed.

"Don't worry, we can't get through this." Beruche said.

"But it's so gross." Mimi said.

"I know." Beruche hugged Mimi.

"And so many slimy animals."

"And the mud, so much mud!"

Beruche and Mimi started to cry together.

"They can fight their worst emotions but can't go through a swamp." Eiko said with a sweatdrop. "Go figure..."

Beruche and Mimi took a deep breath and left.

Once they left Eiko thought to herself. 'Did I mention the giant snakes? I think I did.'

Mina joined Eiko once they Blue Team had left the temple.

"So what did you think about this challenge?" Mina asked Eiko.

"Vivi always surprises me, the little guy is braver than he looks."

"It sure looks that way. I would definitely not want to face the Wiseman again."

"He's not so tough, had I been in there the battle would have lasted less than a minute."

"Sure..."

"You don't believe me?"

Mina had a sweatdrop. "I do.. really."

"But I don't believe you! You want to make something out of it?"

"No wait..." Mina said. She looked at the camera and said "Before this goes violent lets go back with the Brock and Sora and see how the other teams are doing?"
