Final Fantasy IX is the ninth instalment of the popular RPG series. It's story focuses on a young man named Zidanne. Along the game he meets many allies that will help him fight against the evel Kuja.

Vivi is a small black mage, he is shy and get scared easily, but he can be very courageous when he needs to be. He learned about other black mages being created for the sole purpose of war. Later he realized that some of them could become 'aware' like him. Vivi's past was not a pleasant one, but he never looked back as he had to face it.

Freya has a painful past as well, leaving her country of Burmecia to search for her lost love. When she finally found him she saw that he had lost all of his memories, even about her. She also had to go back to her country when she learned it was being attacked, only to see it's destruction and that of the sister country of Cleyra. Even after living all that tragedy Freya was still an honorable warrior who fought for what she believed in.

Quina is.... Quina. He/she is learning the way of the Gourmand. He/she loves to eat everything as he/she believes that is the way to learn about life. Even though he/she appears to not care for anything else but food, he/she cares about his/her friends and is a loyal companion.

The story takes the characters as they were at the end of the game.
