Kari is the last member to join the group. Unlike the others she was left behind when the children first went into the digital world. She's Tai's younger sister and is very kind and loving. She looks up to her older brother but she suffers from bad health and will not say when she's not feeling well; this makes Tai worry a lot. Kari however has mysterious powers that haven't been explained, these powers along with her crest of light have earned her the nickname of the child of light.

Gatomon like Kari wasn't with the rest of the digimons in the beginning. She got separated and waited for Kari all alone. When she was able to evolve she traveled the land looking for Kari but found an evil digimon known as Myotismon instead. Gatomon became Myotismon's servant but her friend Wizardmon helped her learn her true purpose in life and she finally found Kari. Gatomon is more mature than the rest of the digimon because of the life she has led. She is very protective of Kari but they don't share the buddy relationship that all other children have with their digimons. Kari and Gatomon however love each other greatly. Gatomon evolves into Angewomon.
